Inloco Open Storage
Inloco Open Storage is designed with industrial materials to maintain the authenticity of the raw, urban environment surrounding it. At the entrance of Inloco Open Storage, plants sit next to vintage furniture, contrasting with the meditative dark interior of the warehouse that houses our permanent feature, the “Golden Container”. Inside, lights and sounds combine, enhancing the unique and immersive experience for visitors.

The “Golden Container” is an old cargo shipping container, meticulously covered in gold leaf by hand and has been transformed into a room for storing paintings and artworks. Featuring custom compartments that can be pulled out one after another and inspired by museum storage methods, this setup encourages engagement and interaction by allowing visitors to be in close proximity to the artworks. It serves as a treasure box of valuable moments and memories through the materiality of art objects.

Inloco Open Storage
Housed in an old car repair warehouse, Inloco Open Storage seeks new ways to represent indoor urban art and to create a dialogue within its surrounding industrial terrain.

The traditional “white cube” gallery isn’t the best fit for urban or street art, as it strips the artwork of its essential context. Urban art is deeply connected to the environment and community where it was created, and the sterile, neutral space of a white cube gallery often diminishes these crucial elements.
To develop the dialogue of presenting street art in an inside space, Inloco approaches the shipping container as a storage space filled with artifacts that serve as reminders of temporal and site-specific art interventions that previously took place outside on the streets. This approach preserves the connection between the art and its original context, allowing the pieces to retain their intended meaning and significance. Additionally, a shipping container is a recognizable symbol of industrialization, abandoned zones and factory districts, cherished by street artists as a primary happening for the temporality of their work.
