Moath Alofi
Born in 1984 in Madina, Saudi Arabia, Moath Alofi is an artist, researcher, and explorer whose multidisciplinary practice examines the intersection of landscape, heritage, and identity. His work spans photography, mapping, and field research, often uncovering forgotten traces of human presence within the vast terrains of the Arabian Peninsula.
Since 2013, Alofi has treated Madina and its surroundings as an open museum — documenting sites, artifacts, and urban transformations to question notions of memory, permanence, and modernity. His practice blends scientific observation with poetic reflection, positioning him among the leading voices in contemporary Saudi art engaging with the country’s rapid transformation.
He currently serves as Associate Director of Creative Production at Diriyah Foundation, part of Diriyah Gate Development Authority, and is the Founder of Almthba Studio and Co-founder of Erth Team, both platforms dedicated to research, artistic production, and cultural documentation.
Alofi’s works have been exhibited widely, including in London, Paris, Brussels, Moscow, Seoul, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Davos, among others.
