About the book
"Il cimento dell' armonia e del'inventione" is a set of twelve concertos composed by Antonio Vivaldi, the first four are called Le Quattro Stagioni (Four Seasons). This book features the last twelve years of Escif's work from 2012 to 2024. The structure of its contents is based on the Theory of the five transformations. This book avoids a linear account and favours are intersected, transversal and cubist narrative. Visually it is located at the intersection between the hubris and of the encyclopaedia and deconstruction of the sponge cake. The cover shows a full-page work by Escif edited by a five-year-old child. The back cover contains this text.
Escif is an urban artist from Valencia, Spain. He has been painting graffiti since 1996. He is unanimously making murals, public interventions, video, installations and drawings reflecting the contemporary state of humankind. The significance of Escif's work, with a marked poetic identity as a representative feature of work, lies precisely in that alignment where word and image compose the same poetic dialogue. This book is witness to a constant evolution and search to continue defining and redefining the foundations of creativity, always in the care of a constant and great organic conversation between all its parts.
