About the work

About the work

The scene unfolds against the backdrop of an abandoned village in the Mleiha desert of Sharjah, UAE. Contemporary street photography, serves as a form of communication with the chosen location. In this context, a singular camel, an icon of the desert is hidden behind man made barbed wire, implying containment, and the presence of lingering humanity. “Untitled (Camel)” is a unique print, captured by Antone Selone as part of the “Useless Palace” project led by Inloco.

The photography by Antone Selone was captured using a 60-year-old Hasselblad film camera and Fujifilm 400h film. The work was printed on Hahnemuhle barite paper with 350 GSM with a guarantee of 100 years.
