November 25
The forum seeks to critically examine the intersection of urban space and artistic practice, focusing on the transformative potential of art within the public realm. By addressing the question of what occurs when art transitions from institutional settings into outdoor and communal environments, the program aims to explore the mechanisms through which artistic interventions engage with urban contexts.
Key areas of inquiry include: the role of artists, curators, and institutions in shaping public space; the institutional frameworks that facilitate or constrain public art initiatives; and the emergence of temporary artistic interventions within the formats of festivals and biennales. Furthermore, the conference will address the dialogue between urbanists and artists in the processes of integrating art into the fabric of the city, interrogating how such collaborations influence urban aesthetics, community engagement, and the socio-cultural narratives of contemporary cities.
The conference is organized by Inloco Initiative, a brand encompassing projects dedicated to supporting, exploring, and developing urban art since 2017. This includes Inloco Gallery and Nuvo Buro Group, which focuses on public art and urban design.
